Strange Poop / regurge?
pics 003.jpg
pics 002.jpg
My boa just left a strange poop in the enclosure. I hope it’s a poop and not a regurge anyway. I fed her on sat night and found this Tues. morning.
Anyone have any thoughts? I’m concerned.
There has been a charge in her environment. I have a house guest and he is staying in the room with the snake cages temporarily. Other than that I followed the same protocol I have always followed.
House guest leaves this weekend thank god.

Re: Strange Poop / regurge?
I could be wrong but looks like a regurge to me.I have only had it happen to me once tho so i could be wrong, with me it was too large of prey im sure but from what I understand it could be caused from a number of things.I would wait a little extra time before the next feeding to give her/him time to build back up sorry really cant say much more then that do to lack of experience of it.hope someone can help u a little more.

Re: Strange Poop / regurge?
kinda looks like a regurge to me as well. Did you smell it? From what I hear, a regurge smells much worse than regular boa feces.

Re: Strange Poop / regurge?
Did it smell really bad? Looks like a regurge to me. Ya may want to skip next feeding to allow the gut flora time to rebuild. Trust me a snake regurge will make the strongest of stomach's gag if you get a good wiff.

Re: Strange Poop / regurge?
its much stronger, you know the smell if you are unlucky enough to smell it, doesnt smell like anything you smelled before

Re: Strange Poop / regurge?
looks like a regurge. The tail seems to be visible. If you boa isn't prone to having people walk or be in the room a lot, it probably got stressed out due to the higher amounts of movement/vibrations. That would be my guess

Re: Strange Poop / regurge?
chances are its a regurge. you might want to wait a while to feed. i had a BCI regurge and wouldnt eat after it. waited too long to take to the vet and he passed. if she doesnt eat after a while, you might want to take her the vet for a checkup. worst mistake i made with an animal, but it might have been due to issues other than the regurge | |
