Looks like plenty of water for a soak. yeah, see if he takes care of it on his own first. But, the past couple of sheds on my lil suri, I have had to help him

Re: bath time
i always found it best to only fill the tub up to 3/4 of the way up the snakes back. Any more and they are struggling. Too much water and they float. They feel more comfortable grounded.
Good luck

Re: bath time
Not sure if you picked this up, but usually the best idea for them is to be able to still sit on the bottom of the tub, while still in water. If you can put even a half-inch of water in a tub or something, they will enjoy it a lot more. Also may help to put a rag in there or something for them to get up on, and it'll also help the water soak under their skin if they are in shed.
Usually when I soak my smaller guys, I barely make the water cover the bottom surface so they can just lay there and soak, instead of having to swim and tire themselves out. They'll sit there for a while, as they seem to enjoy it. If they have too much water they'll proabably struggle to get out for the entire time, so it doesn't do them a lot of good.
