The best way is to take your boa to the vet and have it probed.
You should not try and do this your self, you can hurt your boa if you do not know what you are doing.
Here is a link that will help you out.

Generally, it's not a good idea to pop or probe... it's better to have a vet do either, right?
Just pondering

probing is 100% the way to go.
but if the boa has size and weight on it you can see by looking at the tail. male boas have a longer tail after the vent. if held belly up horizontally you will see that the males have a hemipenal bulge after the vent, females do not.
females also have a shorter tail from the vent to the tip of the tail.
another good indicator (in juvie or adult boas) are the claws on eitherside of the vent. both male and female have them but the females are smaller and seem to be more "in" the boa, or more under the scales. males have big ones- easily seen and touched. my guys have 1/4" claws.
all this stuff said is not easily seen on babies. probing is the 100% way to go.

CB... I disagree, I belive joltman is correct. the more accurate method is the "t.v. remote" method, plus it's 100% safe, and non-stressfull!! -Juggalo
