Hawaiian Jackson's Chameleon is not thriving
We have had him almost 2 weeks(I think) and he was eating, drinking and appeared to be fine.He is now sort of lethargic and not eating. He was fine yesterday morning and when we arrived home last night he appeared to be fine. This morning was when he started showing signs of being in trouble.
I have a UVB/UVA broad spectrum light and have been feeding crickets, superworms, etc. and he WAS eating great.
Daytime temps. have been 75* and humidity around 55%.
He doesn't seem to be thriving and he is kind of "wobbly" and movements are no longer defined and precise.I am very concerned.
Please help if you can.Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Thanks everyone.

vet asap..he may be stressed from his new enviroment and may be causing his parasites (if he has any) to flare up and get out of control.
If he makes it also suggest a drip system they seem to enjoy those.

Hello
Hello,
I don't think your temps are quite high enough, they should be around 85-95 during the day & 75 or so at night.
Also, what type & brand of UVB light do you have, that is important. There are some out there that are basically just cruddy.

guess I missed the temp part in your first post.
about higher temps....
jacksons DO NOT like to be that warm, they do best in the mid 70s' with a slight drop at night, but do benefit from having a small basking area.
sounds like something else is wrong, you have had it only two weeks.
can you go into more detail of how you have it set up? cage type, if he has a heat lamp for a basking spot?
branches, foilage.. etc.

Than you all for your help!
I kept him at 75 ,basking 80 degrees because that is what I was told to do and I did alot of research and that is what I found,also...I hope I didn't cause this,I tried so hard to take great care of this little guy!
I took him to the emergency clinic within 15 minutes after I started this thread because he continued to worsen. No parasites,no RI,no obvious reason for his decline.
I did everything they told me to do,but he passed away a little bit ago.
RIP Carlito!

He had lots of vines and leaves,I had a basking area at it's hottest was 80 and that was very brief periods. There were branches for climbing,I had a dripper on top and UVB.
I do appreciate all of your help, everyone, but I failed the little guy!
I am sorry,Carlito!
