Help me to help our friend!!
I has a quick exchange with Shane (Natas) about how we may be able to help Nicole and wanted to start a seperate thread to get this started. I know Alan (Junglehabits) offered to help with replacing cages when she is ready for that, for just the price of shipping.
I had the idea to set up a paypal for her to help cover any other expenses that are not covered by insurance.
If anybody has any other ideas on how we can pull together to help her and her family please give us your thoughts.
Nicole, please, even if it seems like too much to ask, you never know what a group of wonderful people can and will do for a friend. Just let us know what you and your family need.

I think general funds for her to use as she sees fit are best. There's damages to repair in the home as well. Even with Al providing new cages, I'm sure Nicole will want to look at t-stats, heating elements, hides, stands, water dishes, etc. Heck, even if she just wants to treat her family to a nice night on the town, it's fine with me. A fire is truly devastating. As tragic as the loss of animals is, there's a lot more to rebuilding and repairing besides simply re-stocking animals. The emotional repair will be the toughest.

The only thing I am garunteed to have on hand that I could give away at the moment would be some spiderlings. I dont know if those float your boat at all, but I thought I would offer.
I might be able to get you some snakes for a good discount from some of the reptile refuges I work at (all the way up to free in certain cases).
I cannot send you any tanks, because I am rather strapped for them myself.

I think a goal we should have is to replace the animals. Amanda and Olivia are heartbroken, and its really tough dealing with loss like this when your a child.
Replacing the animals will make it much easier on the girls I think. So lets get that down as a goal.
