Reptile Relief for Mites
First, the disclaimer: All opinions expressed in this post are the author's and do not represent the views of the ownership or staff of Redtailboa.net.
I have had a several weeks long, running firefight with mites and, in my personal experience, Reptile Relief is totally ineffective against snake mites. I followed the instructions to the letter. I totally scubbed out the enclosures and treated them. I took my snakes out and cleaned off whatever mites I could visually locate. I treated the affected snake every three days. And doing everything the bottle said to do, I went from one snake with mites to three.
The interesting thing is, I sprayed a mite with Reptile Relief and it died immediately. However, I keep finding one mite on this snake, two on that one, etc. This product has not delivered on its packaging promises.
Today, I followed the recommendation of Louise and went with the Repel Permanone treatment. I'll let you know how it turns out.
If anyone is interested in the dealer that sold me the mites, you can PM me.
Have a herp-a-licious day.

reptile relief is soap. Nothing more. Nothing less. It will suffocate those that happen to get covered with it. The rest are free to go about their business.

i didnt know that it was soap either. When i ran into mites in the past i used reptile relief and found that only that worked for me. it worked very effectively for me at least.
Since its basically a soap mixture...is there a kind of soap to use and a mixture ratio that you know that we can use to make our own in that case??

I use Black Knight and Provent A Mite. All work very well. Just dont put to much on Baby Ball Pythons or any small snake. It makes them crazy I found out the other day.

I follow the Repel treatment as well. I had a run in with mites, and the Repel worked great. One treatment, done and over with. Sorry you had to go through a struggle for a weeks, but I'm glad you got it taken care of.
