what do U do when the power goes out
My power went out for 24 and it drops to 55 at night. I kept a fire on till i fell asleep. Then I thought to put some blankets on the tanks but what could that do really? I am thinking of getting a small generator for these sorts of problems. Poor snakes. I have a rtb, corn and 2 anoles. So what do U do?

I have one reptile but all i could suggest in that situation is body heat. Where a constant 85+ dont forget. If you have more than one reptile just share your body heat with each for a certain amount of time until they warm up.

I keep a small supply of heat packs for trips to the vet or in case of emergencies like yours. You can buy them anywhere... grocery store, Walmart, online, etc.
They get very hot though (most heat up to well over 100 degrees), so they have to be wrapped in towels or placed where the snakes can't directly touch them.

Ditto on the heat packs! You can get store bought kinds or even order them online from different suppliers; those last a lot longer, 40 hours even.
They're just too valuable not to have around!
Keywords you might want to search for on the net: heat packs, warmers, shipping warmers

Somethint I have never thought about. Of course I am in texas and for the most part it stays pretty warm. In the winter I could see it getting very cold without power. I could see moving all my reptiles downstairs to be close to the fireplace but I'm sure it would take more than that to keeep them safe.
I am going to take trendkill's advice and get some heat packs just in case.

Besides it's intended use during hurricane season (hopefully I'll never have to use it! LOL) I have a 5700 watt generator. I really believe that if you live in a climate that could cost your herps lives in a power outage, a generator is a must!
