Question Finicky eater

Hey all long time no speak yes yes i know i have a question. I recently acquired a 4.5ft boa who was eating on fresh killed rats. When i had him it would take forever for him to eat frozen thawed and i used the bag method and eventually he ate. After a few rounds he eventually would take the rat but he would still smell the rat for about 10 minutes prior. Wanted to know if anyone has anymore advice to get him to eat more..rapidly, for the lack of a better word. Oh and i feed him every 7-10days

some snakes just take thier time. chance smells her rats or rabbits a good half hour befor she finally eats. it is just his way, no reason to make him eat faster

Try feeding less often I was having the same problem with my dum when trying to feed her every 7 days I switched to every 10 and she seems happy with that

i sure wish my other snakes took thier time. i go in the room to feed my ball python and he is possessed. he still has a ball python body but where his head should be is linda blairs face looking at me and it is spitting pea soup. that is when i open the lid and i throw the rat into the cage from 6 feet away and then i run like heck out of there!

a slight exaggeration but not much!
