Boots - the overactive bather?

I'm a teensy bit worried about the amount of bathing Boots is enjoying these days. He recently had mites and it was suggested that he may still have them but a quite thurough belly scan showed no signs of mites remaining. I'm hoping he's just bathing to sooth the itchiness the mites left behind, but it still sure is an awful lot of bathing.

I went to bed around ~10:30pm last night, he'd been in his water for about two hours at that point. Woke up around 8:00 am this morning (was really tired!) and it looks like he hasn't left his water all night. He's done the same thing the last couple of nights.

He certainly isn't lacking for humidity - at the dryest time of the day he still has about 48-52 humidity in his enclosure, topping out at about 56-58 at night. Temperatures seem good, mid-high 80's hot side and high 70's cool side.

Just have a water loving snake prehaps?

Edit: Just a note, Boots isn't showing any signs of laziness or the like. He responds very quickly to my presence, any change in the light in his cage, and if I leave the cage open long enough he's more than happy to take my invitation to come out and slither around my room for a while. Just seems to stay in his water a whole lot when not exploring my room.

he may have had mite eggs that have hatched since you got rid of the mites. check the bottom of his soaking water real good for little black specks.

Yup, while nowhere near as many as when I first emptied his water (the thing was practically black with mites the first time, poor baby!), there are several tiny black flecks in there again. Drat, his water was clear of them the last two days so I was hoping that I'd got rid of the infestation.

I used a dust this time, I think I'll try the oil this time around and follow one of the guides to see if the results are better.

go to walmart and get repel permanon, it is in a yellow can with a blue lid. take the snake and water out of his cage and spray everything else including substrate well. close all air opening and let it sit like that for half an hour. then uncover it and let it sit for another half hour. put the snake and the water bowl back in the cage. it kills any mites on the snake and any that may be lurking in the cage.
permanone is in the camping section. never put anything in his cage without spraying it with the permanone first, including his substrate. permanone is like 4.00 a can.

You had Boots out so he could explore his room. I would definitely spray the areas in which he was hanging out. Before you spray remove Boots from the room and don't bring him back in until you aired out.
