Snake sideways?

This may be a silly question, but since I have never seen any of my snakes do this, I thought I should ask. Last night as I went to go hold Kym (6 ft female(?) CA boa), she was lying on her side. I picked her up in Oct and she was caged alone at that time and has not been with any other snakes, so she should not be gravid (she still has her girlish figure too). She acted normally and has been eating well. Any ideas? I am guessing she's ok healthwise, since she passed her last vet exam. She is quite dark right now so I am guessig she's thinking of shedding again, too.
I am probably being an overly concerned mom to her, but she has had a hard life and I am trying to make up for it.

this just happend to my snake...i was told that she could be ovulating...or if her side is exposed to the heat shes just trying to regulate her body temp...thats just what i was told...hope this helps...

ya know something, the ovulating part would make a world of sense. When I picked her up from the gut we got her from, her cage (with her in it) was outside on the front porch. It was October, there wasn't even a hot rock in there. I took her home, warmed her up, finally got her to eat (took 3 weeks), treated her RI. Let's see, she was cooled for who knows how long, wamed up, started a modified power feeding (she was thin), it's been 5 months of steady warmth a nd food. Makes you wonder, huh? Darn it, I wish Tarzan was grown. I still have to wait about 3 years til he's ready. Oh poo!!! Anyone have a nice CA boa boy about breeding size around here?
