Mean lil rtb
I didn't let the hissing put me off so he started striking which was fine he calmed down once out of the enclosure.
Two nights ago I took him out and he was fine for about a minute before he started hissing then about 5 strikes.
I did notice this morning that his eyes are just on verge of getting cloudy so maybe that is the whole problem? I know not to deal with him until after the shed but then what?
I'm not sure those eyes are cloudy enough to cause all that reaction and it was acting worse everytime I touched it before it was appearant a shed is coming.
Today it didn't hiss at me for touching the top of it's cage...I'm really not counting that as any progress though..Should I maybe get a hook?

Tell us more about your Boa. How old is it? How long have you had it? What locality is it? Photos?

I got it back in April as a baby so I'm not sure how much older it would have been. Had it for four months. The only change is his tank isn't on the floor anymore (and it doesn't coincide with this spatting) because I got a second hand vision cage for my BP so the temporary ten that he calls home (I got all the supplies for a full on 6x2x2 before I read about the too much space thing?) got moved on top of her cage. It has under tank heating. I have pictures somewhere..I'll have to dig them up though. I'm in a desert area.

Make sure the humidity in the enclosure is right, especially if he is trying to shed now and you live in a dry area. Cover 3/4 or more of the tank with a dampish towel or put one in the tank to increase humidity.. And leave him alone for a few days or until he does shed. Make sure there are rough items for him to rub his shed off - driftwood, stones, and plenty of water in his pool.
When they are shedding sometimes they cannot see well at all, and handling may make them very nervous. When he does shed, handle him every three days at least and keep this up except for the couple of days after feeding.
I found out long ago that Morpheus (my rtb) hates being slid out of his hidey hole - they don't like the feeling that they are "falling" -it makes him feel insecure and strike out, so I have learned to wait until he comes out himself before I handle him.

I have to put vinyl over the top of the cages to keep my humidity up (except for the newest addition of a king snake). Here's pics from about a month ago. I don't why he changed his mind about being handled..
