Ive had the best luck with ones i've made myself, using a Ceramic heat emitter on a thermostat, a digital thermomter with a probe, and a old gutted refrigerator or freezer.
I have one that cost me under 100$ to make and has hatched several hundred eggs

I dont really think I need one that big or have that much room at this time...I was thinking about building one out of plywood, pink styrofoam, and heat tape but not sure if that would work all that well...

Just about anything that is insulated will work even a cooler.

check out feed store's. They have incubators for 75 bucks for chick's. I have heard of a few people using them but haven't used it myself. I would like to know if these are OK also.

the regular hovabators are like 30, but they take a while to calibrate, and they are only good for small clutches of eggs, like leos, or cresteds, maybe corns/kings.
it takes awhile to find what works best for you, given space, time and finanacial resources.
Coolers have proven to be affective too, just dont worry too much about the container, put your first efforts into a stable heat source, and a reliable thermostat.
then worry about what your going to use, as one of my fellow texans said above, anything insulated would work.
just get creative
