RE-Using rats?
question, i'm running low on rats my new BP isn't eating, if he doesn't eat this rat today is it possible to put it in the fridge and feed again tomarrow? it was frozen i thawed it in warm water all day, then when it was thawed i put it in hot water to give it some "body heat" well he's not eating and i dont wanna waste it, so is it possible to fridge it and try again tomarrow? cause i'm pretty sure freezing again would be bad right?

Do you guys really think that is a good way to find out if it is ok to feed a rewarmed rat? I wouldn't risk my snakes health!

I've been told you can refreeze them once, but personally, i'd rather waste my money by throwing the rat away then compromising it's health by trying to save money. I have used a refrozen rat for my ball python and there were no issues. But better to be safe then sorry ya know

I eat food that is rewarmed. No harm, no foul.
Shadraak,
In regards to attempting a feeding tomorrow, It is normally advised to wait approximately one week before attempting to feed again. You will have more success this way, but if you want to try, there is nothing wrong with putting meat in the fridge til tomorrow. rat meat, goat meat, elephant meat, or plain ol beef. I wouldn't do it if the rat was out for an excessive period of time, tho. (more than a few hours)
As far as refreezing, I am not sure. Some people say ONCE is okay if it wasnt out for very long. Some people say NEVER. I think its a good idea to toss it out, but I would think there would be a more definite answer to this question if there was in fact a correct one. My mom says never refreeze meat...it spoils...but IMO how is it gonna spoil...maybe it will get freezer burn or something, but I dont see spoiling occuring.
There have been many threads on this topic, but no definite answers to my knowledge...if there is one, please inform me. I just fed 'Baby' a rat I refroze after she refused it. She took it no problem...I'm sure she'll be fine.

Ive used reheated feeders before. Personally I limit it to one refreeze. I have never had an issue, might be luck migt be that refreezing is ok. Id say you should be ok if you rfreeze it, just might not want to use it a third time.
