well i finally got my bci to eat , after cooling her temperature on the cool side. my question is is that whenever i handle my snake she seems SOO timid , all she does is try to look for a place to hide. Is this normal, I handle her at least once a week, will she grow out of this ??? If so when ? She is never agressive so I guess that is a plus. Any comments would be appreciated , thanks

depends.. Some snakes will always be that way. some are just social butterflies. They all have different personalities. With handling it should improve.

It doesn't sound like any kind of problem to me, like Ed said, probably just the snake's personality. Glad she's eatin' for you! -juggalo

Maybe you could try to handle your pet more, but let it digest
its food before doing so. Try handling it every other day or so,
maybe it will want to be held.

Like DVR said, you may want to handle it more often. Give 48-72 hours after feeding before handling, but other than that, I try to handle my snakes daily so that they're well socialized. When Ayasha first comes out, she likes to explore for a while, climbing over, under, behind things, etc. But after a few minutes, she settles down and just hangs out with us. How long do you handle the snake when you get her out? How long have you had her?
What kind of enclosure do you keep her in? Does she have enough hiding places, etc? Maybe she's nervous in general because she doesn't feel comfortable in her home?
Like they said, some snakes are just a little sensitive to movements and being out in wide open spaces. I'd just try to handle her a little more often.
