Color Change?
I noticed my boa's color has darkened and I'm wondering if this is a sign of something? I think I remember being told that they do that when they're getting ready to shed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

They do change colors, some localities more then others. Usually they are darker during the day, right before shed they darken and become more dull and after a meal while they digest they get darker.

There's really no reason why they do it... mine are about as opposite as they come. My best guess would be to say to absorb and/or deflect heat.
It's perfectly normal.

I have no answers for that one, either. Maynard darkens, then lightens, then darkens probably 10 times a week!!! I'll wake up in the morning and he's dark as heck....i get home from work and he's almost silver-grey! Been wondering the same thing...he's healthy, so no worries!!!!

I think unluckyseventeen is right. I've heard that during certain periods during gestation, the gravid Boa will darken to absorb more light/heat. I've noticed mine do it as well on some occasions.
