Alright, I'll admit it. I got a new member of the family while I was at the White Plains show, but I'm still not saying what until I can get the pics posted. (Is the suspense killing you yet?) Well, I got it set up in the tank last night and he did something Ted never did: he climbed the cage. When I noticed it, I turned the heat lamp off, but I think he burned his nose slightly. It's a bit brown and shiny. I don"t recall seeing any pics of monor burns. How do you treat this? Or do I just wait for the next shed? And yes, I've moved the lamp much further away.

To me, burn = aloe, but try and find something that doesn't have a bunch of other crap and perfume in it...

The aloe can work to a point, but use it in combo with plain (non pain relief) neosporin.
Also watch for any signs of infectin, which can be swelling, drainage, necrosis, the development of a cyst like area etc, either alone or in combinations.

Was the lamp exposed or was it the screen that got hot enuf to burn him?

Actually, he was just cruising around in the cage and decided to stop in a semi upright position about a few inches away from the screen. Kinda like he was basking and decided he didn't want to move. There were no climbs in his cage. Very spartan, actually. Water dish, a hide and newspaper substrate. I never even thought he would do this considering the height of the tank is about half is overall length. Argh!

I took pics last night. If they come out well, I'll have them posted later tonight.

It looks like this.

I tell you, this guy will not lie flat. He's always cruising the tank, climbing the walls. I hope he settles down.

It's not that she kissed the lamp or screen. He just kinda climbed the wall to within an inch of the lamp and stayed there. So basically, half of her body was against the glass. I fed her yesterday, after only having her for a couple of days and she's finally calmed down. Went into her hide and haven't seen her since. Hopefully, that's the only reason why she was cruising so much.

Oh, sorry. It is a her, but I call her "Bill".
