Howdy again, quick question...

How often will my boa urinate? I've been changing the substrate every time I see something in there, but he defecated once, about 3 days after eating last week, and he hasn't urinated that I've noticed yet. Is it noticable, or is there something wrong? Or maybe he's urinating in my shirt? I put one in there at the beginning to get him used to my smell, but he spent all his time or around it so I just left it in there, should I remove it?

Basically, the question is how noticable is the urates, and if they're noticable, and there are none, how bad is it?

thanks,
Matt

Good question, but before that, I want to say, Welcome to Redtail!

Any way, the amounts of after productions is usually directly related to the size of the producing animal.
Your boa is doing this, usually they do it when they deficate and it is noticible to a degree that I don't believe it is using your pocket.

If your boa is very tame and sociable now, then go ahead and remove your old shirt from its tank.

The urates are semi-solid, a mixture of liquid and chalky-white solids. Often, snakes will excrete urates in conjunction with defecating. Other times, they will just pass them on their own.
