How do you determine the sex of a rtb?

they get probed. I think its 3-5 scales is a female and 5-10 is a male. But dont try to do it yourself. Take it to a vet or if you know anyone at a petstore you trust have them do it.

A way to get an idea is the tail and the spurs by the vent. I think that a female's tail will taper off to a point at a slower rate, while a male's tail goes down to a point rather quickly. The spurs, which look like little claws are very evident in males while they are hard to spot in females. I can get you some pics of what a females tail looks like when I get home

Wrong. Male's tails taper off more slowly because of the presence of hemipenes. Probing or popping, however, is more reliable if you know how to do it.
