Where to get frozen rats and mice at?
I have been normally going to a pet store around here and just picking up frozen rats for my boa. Now I have been doing it this way for over 2 years now and its getting old this way. and now I have my argus monitor and he loves pinkys so I am just going to place a good order and get it over with.
My question is, where do you recommend getting good frozen rats and mice at?
I don’t want them to be old test rats or raised in a dirty place and full of sicknessssssss. My first guess is RodentPro.. has anyone ever heard anything bad about them?
Who do You recommend and why?
Thanks....

if you lived in CA i would just tell you to come over to my house and pick some up. i always end up having alot, freezing half of them, boxing up the other half and giving them away. i would say my freezer is equal parts rodents and food. and the funny part is.. all the things that eat frozen are hibernating right now. i gave mice and geckos to my friends for christmas

www.rodentpro.com Good service and quality. Watch out for shipping, the price if you don't watch it will nip you in the rear end!!!!

I have an order coming from them next week. They are good, reliable and usually have the rodents in stock when other companies are out. You can order online and it will ship the following Tuesday unless you order it on the weekends. Shipping is always expensive, but for me with shipping included it is still cheaper to buy through this type of company{Rodentpro, Big Cheese Rodent Factory, ect} then to purchase frozen feeders at local pet stores.

Even with shipping rodentpro has been the best.
However, you have to buy a lot to make the shipping costs worth it. If you do a small order you will pay more for shipping than the cost of the rodents.

With rodentpro you may add another 4-5 bags of rats on and not realize you are being charged for shipping 2 boxes instead of 1. It can get expensive having 2 boxes of rodents shipped. I never ordered directly from them but a friend ordered some mice for me to have shipped with his to save me money. Great quality. I ordered last time directly from bayou rodents. Not sure the website but just look in kingsnake.com and go to the breeders/dealers section and click on feeders. Its in abc order so its toward the top. I ordered $170+ in rats back in november because rodentpro was out of what I needed.

I'm thinking of going with rodent pro. I just seems like so much money for rats/mice you know. But in the end I bet its around the same going to the store if not cheaper. thanks for all the info..
How long do you think keeping them in the freezer is safe? does RodentPro vacuum pack their rats? I know someo ther people do like www.frozenrodent.com ..... has anyone ordered from them before?

I forget if they do. I order so many that I don't know who does. I think they do. If their vacume packed they can stay 'fresh' for 2+ years if they remain frozen. I have kept vacume packed mice for around a year and a half and the only mice/rats I see freezer burn is on pinkies and if vacume packed it takes a while

Good to know, You would think that they do vacuum pack them seeing as they are one the the most popular suppliers.
