My ball reaper has escaped for the second time. I have clips and a book on his cage but he got out ! We checked every where and 1 day later no sign of him. I checked under the sink the next morning and found a regurgetated mouse he just ate. I moved aside some bags and there was a hol around each water pipe and there was a hot and cold. I figured he went down the hot and down there there was a cobweb clearing and a hollow 10 gallon area. He probably went down there so we cut a sqare out of it on mon night and he vanished maybe when we cut it or maybe sun. We went in the basement and found that the pipes led down there and there was a big enough hole. the part where he is is by insalation and he is snug somewhere in it but we cant get him out. . Help on any way to get him please. I put 2 mice in a box but they chewed through the tape and box and 1 was eaten by a cat and the other is......? i dont know.he is in great danger because the cats live down there .HELP ME!!!

Step one is lock the cats in a room until the snake is retrieved.
When you say insulation, do you mean fiberglass insulation, like in the walls? Depending on the house, some walls have holes bored through them to run the electrical wires of the house and he might be able to move through them.
This could be very, very difficult to retrieve unless you're willing to rip the insulation and stuff all out to get him out...
If he's in the walls, it's gonna be tough to coax him out, you're gonna have to tear into them to get him out...

Yes basically you will need to make it more a desirable place (to be outside the walls). He's also going to be more active at night, of course. May be a long night but you could try putting a mouse in a container, near an exit, and grab a beer and wait. He may decide to show up. Coax may need to be the food and heat, although it may be hard to compete with the heat inside the insulated walls. I would stick with the mouse.

The follow up question would be this: He just regurged a mouse. So, assuming he can be coaxed out and eats the prey item, what else needs to be done? His gut flora isn't replenished so what can be expected for treatment for both stress and also so he won't regurge again?

Have you tried looking outside yet? He could be in a warm spot outside,
or somewhere inside, like the water heater or furnace. Something that puts
out quite a bit of heat. Just some suggestions.
