My new red tail
Hey!
I just purcased a new healthy, docile baby red tailed boa and it is 8 weeks old. It is in a 55 gallon tank and i was wonder what i need to do to keep it docile and healthy thankx a lot!

Welcome to the site and congrats on your new critter.
Why dont you start off by telling us what you have done so far, and perhaps we can give you pointers on where you should go next
How is your temps?
What are you using to heat your setup?
What is your current humidity?

So far i have the snake in 55 gallon fish aquarium with wood chip style bedding and it has two pet med repitle flourecent bulbs i mnot positive on the huminity and temp

You stated you are using "wood chip style bedding" as your substrate. What exactly is it? It is not pine or ceder, is it??? Pine and ceder shaving can and will harm your snake.

no i dont think there pine or ceder becuase the lasie at the pet store recommened them to me. Everyone on this forum thinks i dont deserve to have a snake i just got this snake because my lil brother could take care ofit right i was ask u guys because rather then a book i thought i could get personal experiance from like professionals that have dealt with these species a long time, thanx a lot everyone

The problem is your not taking proper care of the animal u had and then you go out and buy another, If you don't take proper care of your animals, thaey will get RI, scale rot etc.. Or even die! All we want is to see that you are taking proper care of the animals that you have. I personally think it was very iresponsible to go out and buy another boa like that.
