Ok, I have been trying to figure this out once again but of course I am a little slow working with foreign things har..anyway..Basically I have a few needs I have to have in a thermostat and I was wondering if anyone could outline exactly what I need to buy..With all those power/light blah blah blah modules I get confused . Here is what I need

I need to control 12 seperate lights - Most likely I know I will need a 1000w + thermo for this.

Which thermos can control 12 different things? Is it even possible without buying two?

Optional Things:

I know there are many dawn/dusk modules and what not..is their any that could turn day lights on, monitor their set temp, then turn them off, turn the night lights on monitor their temps and then repeat? Sorry if thats confusing .. also I have a lot of 24 hour timers but hrm... those + thermo..dunno if itd work..

Ok Thats about it, if anyone can help me sort out all of these things I would gratly apreciate it..Morti I still know how yours are set up im just exploring my options.

Thanks!

It's impossible to control 12 enclosures with one or two thermostats. Being that they only have one sensor to detect the heat per thermostat. So if you have 12 lights or whatever in 12 different enclosures, you are going to need 12 thermostats. Also, there is no thermostat + daylight timer combo.

Hrmm..so people spend up to 100 bucks on every one of their reptiles thermostats? That seems like blah lol..when I think of the amount of animals Ravnos or Lori has it boggles the mind. Ok Thanks though!

I currently use this thermostat. It costs $30 and does the job. BUT you need to do a search on Helix because I do know that they have a 500 watt thermostat and also a 1500 watt thermostat. Thats really all I know about them. Anyways, heres a link to where I buy my el cheapos.thermostat

There are plenty of thermostats to choose from to fit your budget. Depending on how many W per cage you use is what really depends on the price. There are rheostats that handle up to 150W for $15. Like Karen said the analog ESU handles 500W and ranges about $30. Now the digital thermostats seem to be only a bit better but range pretty pricey. Look around and you can find some pretty good thermostats that aren't to pricey.
