Thanks all for the input and I will do all that I can to get this little guy on track. Will let ya all know how things are progressing.

also the vet I took him to owns snakes, 3 to be exact. A Boa, Cornsnake and Bp. So of course I trusted his judgement. Anyway thanks again.

No problem. He may not be a bad vet overall, but to treat a non-feeding BP, which are already known for going on hunger strikes just because you touched them, for parasites with out first confirming a problem with a fecal seems dumb to me.

Question

i had 4 ball pythons since babies and had not had one problem in getting them to eat..and i have 3 more that will be ready to eat this weekend.

Ok so I went and bought a digital thermo-hygrometer today and put it in the cages and both of my humidity levels are in the 30% raange. So how do I get them up? I have heat pad and lamp at one end of the cage with waterbowl. Do I need larger bowl? bigger bulb? ceramic Bulb perhaps? right now I have a 40 watt bulb. it is a 10 gallon tank.

For leopold that is in the plastic shoe box container the temp reads 95 and humidity is also in the 30's. How do i acheive the right humidity?
especially in such a small box.

thanks

ok to bump up humidity u can do 2 things.. get a spray bottle and mist the cage down til humidity reads 60-70% or u can us a damp warm towel and cover up the enclosure.

you need to get the temp in leopold's box down to about 88-89.. the extreme heat is prolly a good indication as to why he's not eatting. as far as humidity in there..i would mist it down good..

try that give it a week or so then try to feed again.

hope this helps =)

ok, it was recommended that you leave him alone for two weeks, and you haven't. you forced him to eat three times in a week and a half, which is roughly 3 incredibly stressful meals in 10 days. did ya know snakes can die from stress?

First of all yes I know snakes can die from stress. They can also die from not eating and he had become very listless and the weight he lost and was losing was very evident. They can also die because there organs stop operating properly. So I fed him and he ate I did not have to force feed him just assist so there is a diffrence. If I had waited longer he would probably be dead! I asked for help, not to be ridiculed. You weren't very helpful!

I got a question, I work at a local Wally World and I have never seen temp guns at my store (or any other local stores).Which Department you find it in? And back to the subject at hand, Have you tried paper bag or dark tote feeding? there could be a possibility that he is just scared and will not eat while being watched. Either that or if you are feeding pre-killed (Any age can start on pre-killed and I dont care what anyone says to that), There are a few more ways to try to entice the reptile, such as scenting, Braining, and gutting (Wich is in the same catagory as braining but whos keeping score). You most likely just have a very finniky eater on your hands.
