RTB hides

My 5 month old RTB just started to hide under her substrate(reptibark)...Is that a normal behavior or should I worry.....I went in to take her out for some play time and couldnt find her...lol cage was all secure so I started digging and found her burried...seems to be just hinding....hopefully this is normal...I also have 2 hides one on the cool side and 1 on the warm(87)...thanks for the help

It is normal... especially (but not limited to) when they are shedding. I use newpaper, and Kahlua manages to find his way under the newspaper when he's in blue. Nothing to worry about at all.

Yea, some boas tend to do that in loose substrate. Some just prefer their hides. Just be carefull! If you have a UTH right on the bottom of the tank, the snake can burn itself. If you do have a UTH right on the underside of your enclosure, put some spacers under it to give about 1/4 inch between the cage and heat source. If your UTH is flexwatt though, you should be fine. It's such a low voltage power source that it probably will never pose a threat to your critter.
