Ok, I've got a young female Uromastyx living with my 2 year old Male. She is about half his size. I was wondering if it were possible for her to get pregnant being so young. I havn't seen him trying anything with her, but I don't know. So I guess my question is, is she like a snake and not willing to mate till mature, or will she go at it whenever. Thanks,
Chris.

I used to keep alot of Uros. I BELIEVE (not possative or even sure ) that they will breed a little too early but produce nonviable eggs. This may also stunt her growth. Laying eggs takes alot out of a lizard.

Uro' require a slow period of decreased photoperiod, temperature, and intake and expulsion of certian dietary groups. This stimulates the mateing process but takeing a captive reptile of almost no water intake to 65-70 degrees farenheit instead of it's usuall 120 degrees can be very stressfull.
