Actually ball pythons are the ones that go off feed a lot more often than boas do. Just be patient with the little guy and a vet visit might not be a bad idea.

Doug....where do you get that ball pythons go off feed for the winter?? Ball Pythons go off feed sometimes for various reasons...not because it is winter though. Please be careful what you post here on this subject...you will have people not offering food to hungry snakes because it is winter. MOST captive ball pythons don't go off feed at all for any extended time once they are extablished feeding unless there is a good reason ... ie: shedding, breeding, gravid, illness etc.

One of my BP's has not eaten since November, except two weeks in a row in the beg. on Jan. The other has never been a problem. I was hoping it was just that it's winter. Not I'm confused and concerned.

I think sometimes people assume they are fasting cause they won't eat but in reality just aren't being offered what they want. Ball Pythons are known to be picky, stuborn feeders. But other than the months and months it usually takes wc snakes to begin feeding, Most will feed year around although sometimes sporadic.

i have lots of balls and they eat year round. the most they will miss is a feeding or 2
(couple of weeks)
your boa and ball are prolly being housed in substandard conditions, being exposed to the elements- wich include drafts, under stress for a billion different reasons.
its exactl;y what julius said. these snakes do not go off of feed for a seasonal thing. they eat all yr round.
check your temps, humidity, the area where you have the enclosure at, your handling practices, if the enclosure is by a bassy radio etc.....
make sure your boa is not sick, and try different food item.
good luck

Im a little concerned for my BP, she is approx 1yr old and since I have had her(7mths ago)I have not had a problem feeding her at all, but i started her on some slightly bigger mice than her usual fuzzies, she took one just coming up to two weeks ago and she hasnt fed since. She seeemed to have a really good appetite but I just can't get her to feed, is it really true what was said above that they are picky eaters !!, I know that they are renouned for being 'difficult', but nothing in her Viv has changed and i was just a little worried,

they are picky n choosy. i had to not feed my royals for almost 2 months just to get them off of mice! they loved mouse, but never took a rat. i did that drastic move to make a successful switch. now they all eat rat.
they may imprint on a certain thing. also a bigger mouse would last a #$%^$%^$%^$%^& of alot longer than a fuzzy. ike my guys- when they wont eat for 2 weeks- its usually because i gave them a larger rat or something. it just held them over more.
with bp's- really watch the stress factor- it may be a cause for the non eating. it took me a while to get them to feed out of their enclosure. seems like any switch messed with them.
then that was only with a few- i have others that you could step on while they eat and they would just continue with out a care in the world.
what you can do is make sure every thing on your end is right. once that is done, you will see you hardly ever have a problem.
