i have had my baby rtb for about 5 weeks and he has not shed yet and my question is when will i know when he is going to shed and this may sound stupid but what is "blue" and what should i look for to know when he is starting. thanks as always [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

look at the eyes they should turn blue and it will shed in a few days or so

his eyes will get cloudy blue or "fog"
and his body will turn a darker color
and at this stage dont feed him and he might be a little grumpy [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]

all snakes are diffrent,, i have had a snake go 3 months without shedding.

ya i figured he was ok just wanted to throw it out and see what everyone thought,,, obtw i keep his humidity at about 50-60 will this need to go up when he goes blue

Yes. During shed make sure you keep the humidity up around 55-60%. Might also be a good idea to supply a humid box, just a regular hidebox with some damp moss in it. This will also help during the shed process.
