Question New burm, couple questions

Hi all, as a newbie to the world of burmese pythons I just want to ask a couple questions to the veteran keepers. We just got him today and I anticipated grumpiness. He was really hissing at me anytime the cage would get opened. I know, I know, I just wanted to make sure all my temps and whatnot were okay and yes look at my new baby. At one point I removed him from the enclosure and he was fine once I got him out but as soon as I put him back in he had a go at me. I was just wondering if this is normal stress or possibly territorial aggression or maybe he's hungry? If I just completely leave him alone for a few days he'll start to settle right? And what do I do if he does wind up being territorial, how do I alleviate that? I'm just assuming for the time being that he's just feeling stressed and as soon as he gets comfy all will be well. And how long should I wait to feed him? Btw, he's just a baby, about 3 feet long, 2 months old if that makes a difference. Thanks a bunch guys, blessings.
Crissia

I think he's stressed. Once u get the snake, ur supposed to leave it alone for a week or 2 so it can explore and adjust to it's new environment. Try feeding in a week. If he is aggressive, u have to tame him down by handling him. Don't leave it to thelast minute. U don't want a 12 foot agressive burm. Good luck, keep us updated.

Yeah, leave him be a week or so and let him get used to his new home. Then handle him every chance you get, except after feeding and when he's in shed. If you have to, pull him out with a stick or with gloves, just do it gently and slowly. I have 2 burms who hiss all the time, whether there in their cages, me handling them, or them crawling through the house. The only time they won't hiss is when I'm putting them back in their cages, guess they want me to feel sorry for em.lol......The striking will go away in time, unless they smell food, then all bets are off. Good lookin burm by the way, congrats, and have fun with him.
