Substrate/Bedding

Has anyone ever use finely shredded paper for substrate? I have used it for me gerbils over a year and they are thriving. For my boa and ball, I am thinking about using a two inch thick layer. Of course, I wouldn't feed on it. What are considerations should I make before deciding to use the finely shredded paper?

Well I think that if your going to use newspaper, it doesnt have to be shredded. For one thing it would be rather soft, and if one soiled it could get burried and you wouldnt know it.

I think it would be fine. And if it did poop then it would stick and be a clump like litter. The only problem I see would be if it got wet then got buried and didn;t have any hard feces. I have thought about it a few times but haven't went and got a paper shredder.
