And the answer would be YES!
I just bought one, and it is invalueble. My BRB's cage is kept very humid, because of such it seems that the needle rusted rather fast for my cheap thermometer. It was registering 14 degrees cooler than it really was. I figured it was measuring low, and is why I broke down and spent the 25 dollars at Lowes.
It is not worth risking cooking your boa or python to save 10-15 dollars. Go digital.
Just thought I'd share. =)
Scott

I agree. If anyone has a bed bath and beyond near them I picked up a Bionair digital thermometer/hydrometer setup for $20. If you have a $5 off coupon you can get it for $15. That's almost the same price as a analog dual setup.

I agree... I've found my digital thermos invaluable - definitely worth the investment. What I want to get eventually, is one of those temperature sensing laser units. Would be nice to have something that accurate. =)

My digital thermometer I bought works great. I've never had a problem with it. Ravnos: Me to, but those heat infrared guns are a bit to pricey

I got one of the laser guns for Christmas this year and I have to tell you that they are the best thing you can invest your money in!! WOW!! I got a Raytek MT and I would give twice the price that was paid for it now that I have used it.
OH...the little strip thermometers that go on the side of aquariums are USELESS!! I did not have one cage that it actually read close to the right temp. In one tank the strip read 85 but the hot spot was over 100!!! I expected it to be a few degrees off...but nowhere near twenty!

I agree the strips are useless. I love my digt. temp./humd. I have one in every tank i have. You would have to pry it from my cold dead hands for me to give them up!
