weird heat sensor, weird scales????

I'm really worried. When i first bought my baby bp 2 weeks ago i noticed last week that it still had a scale hanging from its heat sensor. of coourse it fell right off. Well i just now noticed that in the same one its darker than the rest. it loks like it has dirt or dust in it or something. I know this cant be good, but how the heck did that happen? Also, he has two spots on his colored scales where they are hard and slightly raised, very slightly, just cause they're hard and hes so small his scales still feel silky, they have white stuff in between them. You cant see it unless you look extremely close. There's no bugs. One last thing, there is a vertical line a little ways up from the whatever-you-call-it. There is a yellowish little tiny scale and underneath it is a tiny tiny hole. Looks like he got poked w/ a needle or something. Now... I only thought they had one hole. I am going to be beyond angry if this snake wasnt cared for properly before i bought it. What the #&*@'s going on please!?

Very hard to help without pics, as for the raised scales and the scale on the heat pit area, no idea.

The vertical line a little ways up from his vent could likely be the umbilical scar, that will disappear with time. Is the hole in the same area?

Without pics, I would suggest a trip to the herp vet, a diagnosis without seeing pics could be so far off the mark, you may think all is ok and it may not be.
Not a silly idea to go to the vet with a new pet anyway, gets you on the books (saves time in an emergency), gets you familiar with the vet and how to get there in case of an emergency, or just to have a check over and a fecal done. (How old is it, for the fecal I mean).

I'd say he's about a month old. Yeah the hole is there too, probably what you said. I hope that its not urgent, i wont be able to get him there for a few weeks. (I just had an expensive medical problem of my own come up not too long ago). I put iodine and polysporin on one of those lil spots and it seemed to help. I might stick with that for a bit until i can take him.
