Baby garters!

Well, I apparently didn't sex at least one of my garter snakes correctly, because this afternoon, I came home to a whole bunch of young ones zipping around. Perhaps 20 of them.

Any advice, opionions? Can't keep them all, off course, but what would they eat, etc?

What is a good strategy to release them so they won't turn into food right away?

Ther is no good strategy for letting them go. If you did they would have about 1% servival rate 99% death. JMO See if you can find good homes for them. as for feeding go to this site and click. How to Take Care of Garter Snakes.

Ditto, I've been searching everywhere for garters, and only found some for sale on a medical lab animal website...there's one living at my grandma's house, but he seems so happy where he's at, and I really didn't want to take a wild garter.

I am from SE Mich too. I think if you let them go they would do alright. BTW welcome to RTB.NET
