Ok went to the Irving herp show and came back with a buncha new aminals. One is a baby boa and one is a baby ball python. I know I need to quarrantine...but what all EXACTLY does that entail? I have heard a week or two weeks all the way up to quarrantining for like 6 months to a year. I'm pretty sure that the main reasons behind quarrantine are
mites and
ibd. But
ibd can take forever to show signs, and even then the signs can be easily missed.
Mites are pretty much a no brainer if you know what you are looking for and how to catch em best ((which I hope I do)). So what is the low down on the quarrantine thing? How long is best? Does it have to be a whole other part of the house or just a different corner in the room seperated. I know to wash hands and arms really well, handle them last of the day, clean their stuff last and with different cleaning materials. What all else is there i need to watch out for or do?
New additions to the family : Colombian rtb ((Storm)), Ball Python ((majik)), Scorpion ((sting)), prairie dog ((unnamed atm)), and a red-eyed armored skink ((Natas))
The skink is named for two reasons: 1) In honor of SHane for creating RTB and 2) my gf said he looks satanic and wanted to name him satan, so I said no...Natas
And Lori the skink is awesome You definitely should get one
