temp drops
I have a ball python and a red tail boa, and am using heat lamps on both. the temps during the day are good, (85-8 but at night they drop down to about 74. I am worried that this is too low, I have under tank heating pads that I use during the winter, should i use them at night or is that drop in temperature OK? any input would be great, thanks!

I would get an off color bulb to run during the night.
As long as its a red light or black light it wont bug them, but it will keep their temps up.
Another option is a CHE... a little costly but they last forever.

Sure...
All my cages have a UTH with at least one CHE and a low wattage bulb for day/night cycle.
I like the CHE to keep the air temp up and I use the UTH to keep the bellyheat up. Just watch your temps when adding more than one heat source.
