New Hog Island Boa, fist time owning a snake . . . help!
I picked up a beautiful baby hogg island boa at a local reptile convention today. And, well, I don't know jack about owning a snake. I've got a tank, a heating pad, reptile bedding, a water dish . . . but I want a happy snake! Any veterans with advice to offer?

Read this wonderful caresheet written by my husband. The Hog Islands are BCI, so the info is correct for housing.

Thanks for the heads up but, I won't breed any burm in my posession. There is way too many in rescue.
It would like breeding a tabby cat intentionally. No need.
But I still want a male Hoggy!!!!!

Hi and welcome to the site. There are lots of Hog Island lovers here.
I've often thought about getting a pair. I probably will someday but would like the patternless vs the patterned ones.
Check out the care sheets and then if you have any questions your in the right place.
