Hot end / cool end
I'm not sure if this is something to worry about or not.
As I said in a previous post, I finally got my temps right in the "hot" end of the cage...
Last night when I went to bed (about 1:30 this morning, actually) my RTB was under his rock in the cool end of the tank.
It is now 12 hours later and he is still in that cool end. I would think he would be cold by now. Is this unusual?
I'm also having trouble keeping the cool end above 70.
Thanks for any help.
Oh.. the tank is 4' x 2' x 2'

toker - the cool end is right about 70 ....
joe_colvin - no no no heat rock... I have the under tank heat pad and a light on the top ..
I also have a "red" light that I thought about moving over to the cool end to try and warm it up just a bit...
I just worry he will get too danged cold to crawl and not go back to the warm end lol
~~
I asked in another post how often I should expect him to shed... He's just a baby, I'm guessing.. about 19" long...seems quite active.... but I don't know when I should be watching for him to shed..
Thanks again

Do you have a hide on the hot end too?
If you do then the snake will move when it needs to.
Shedding once every 5 to 6 weeks would be the normal range.

That likley will not happen.
Your cool end is a little too cold. you can try and have a very low wattage red or black light on the cool end set to a timer if need be to come on at night. or when your day cycle goes off.
Also, one thing to check, hides. My critters seem to pick a fav hide and will be where ever it is.
If you have a hide at both ends, try something, switch them, if your critter stays on the cool end even though the hides have been switched. all is well, if not. Try and figure out what makes the one hide special.

Wal-Mart has them really cheap... go look back in hardware where the outlets and light switches are.
