Unethical employee?

Hey guys, i know i haven't been on in a while. Something happened to my ip address and it only recently dawned on me to do a system restore. Anyway, the New York July 18th reptile expo was great and after a few months of planning, i brought home a baby columbian bci with high pink sides. It's awesome. I asked the guy who sold it to me to give me a male. (there were three left) He popped the first one and said female. Then the second was also female. The third he popped, hesitated for a second than said male. I couldn't see any noticeable difference from where i was standing (over the counter.) The reason i wanted a male was because they tend to stay smaller and don't eat as big food items. I didn't even think about the popping thing until i got home, i was too happy that i got such a great looking boa. Is there any way that i could have it sexed again? I dont think i will be able to part with it anyway but do all adult female bci's eat rabbits? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, I will post pics as soon as it gets calm enough to handle.

There is really no way for us to comment on whether this guy is ethical or not based on what you told us.

If you really want to know what sex the snake is, take it to a vet that works with reptiles and have it probed. Please do not try to probe or POP the snake yourself. If done incorrectly can cause serious harm to the snake.

Hard to say really. When i got my first snake and had no clue on sexing, the store i bought it from popped it and said it was female. I later had it probed and it turns out it was male. Popping is very unreliable, and unless the snake totally emmits himself, you really cant tell for sure all the time.

The way you describe the transaction it sounds like he really wanted to make a sale. But i couldn't say for sure.

oh yeah forgott to adress that. Not all female Boas need to go on rabbits. Most do just fine all their lives on Jumbo and colosal rats. Speaking for myself, i feed my boas (male and female) rabbits only cuz its allot cheaper than rats, and they are only slightly larger than the rats. I'm not feeding my boas 5-10 pound rabbits. mine are only about 1-1.5 pounds. a colosal rat is about 1 pound.

For me they are. the guy i get my rabbits from sells them for $1 a pound. the avg jumbo rat is about $2.50-$3. Colosal 3-3.50. If you can find a guy who has allot of breeders you can get deals on bunnies.

alright, i will keep that in mine. currently i have one boa on jumbos... but two more (at least) in the future.

does the dude sell the bunnies frozen?

k thanks for the help. the main problem was that i thought i woulnt be able to get rabbits unless from rodentpro.
