problem w/ shed of ballpython!!!!!Help ME,Plx!!!!!
hi everyone!!! i have a problem w/ my ball(baby). she has been shed, but not in one piece. she shed many many pieces. i have provided 65% humidity, and not feeding her, and a bowl of water, a half log that big enough for hiding, and a fake tree. That's all i got for my baby. The question is do i have to do anything else to help her shed the remained skin, and what should i do when she shed again next time( shed in one whole piece). Thanks for anyone who answer my question.

The humidity is right. She may have rubbed up against something that start peeling the shed from the wrong part. Soak her in water for a while, that will help get the rest of the shed off.(if any is left)

What are you keeping her in? My BP's do much better in rubbermaid totes. Just drill a few holes around the sides near the top for ventilation. Perfect sheds every time. WHy are you not feeding her? My BP's eat in blue and in shed. Never withhold food from a BP, unless it's ill. They can be troublesome feeders, and you should take precautions to prevent that situation from arising. As far as the shed, I like John White's suggestion. Put the snake in a damp pillowcase on the warm side of the enclosure overnight. Shed should be gone by morning. Good Luck!

Sorry Herp_Chick, but new owners/site attendees and problems make me paranoid.
Just to clarify Herp_chicks points:
Damp means slightly wet to the touch, not soggy/dripping. Too much water in the fabric can result in not enough airflow available and a snake dying from suffocation.
Warm side means comfortable warm, not directly on the heat pad, under a light or in a position that will make the damp pillowcase too hot. Remember, that while in that pillowcase, the snake can't move around to regulate it's temp. Perhaps put the pillowcase in the spot the snake likes to hang out in most.
ChrisBallPython: Bad sheds are nothing to get paranoid about. We hear of them being all so dreadful, but they have a way of working themselves out with minimum fuss. Just follow the advice given to you by the people here and you should be fine.

What are you using to check the humidity? If its a dial, it might be giving you a false reading.
