small snakes, Big Cage?
Ok i have two young colombian red tail boas. They are about 2.5 to 3 feet long and i have them in a 55 gallon aquariam(i recently cleanen it out and turned it into a tetrarium). All I have is repti-bark a half hallow stump thing and a small water bowl. Is that too big a cage or should i put more stuff in it to fill it out and give them something to do?? Thanks

and they need a couple of hides... one on the cool end and one on the warm end. and make sure you have the proper humidity and temperatures.

They really should have their own home. If you keep two snakes in the same cage it will stress them out over time.
As long as the cirtter has plenty of hides, it wont make that much of a difference how big the cage is, but you might want more than one water bowl. If they have to go a long ways to get water, and be exposed during that time they might not risk it and then get sick.
Tell us a little more about your setup? Temps/ Humidity?
And Welcome to the site by the way!!

Welcome to the site!
As the others have said you really should have separate cages for the snakes.
Each cage should have it's two hides, one on the hot side, one on the cool side, and at least one water bowl.
There are some great care sheets and information here on this site so hit the link provided kerri4776 in the post above and do some reading.
Where are you from?

Walmart sells some pretty cheap thermometer/hygrometer units in the hardware section. Grab a couple of those, a 96 quart sterilite tub, a human heat pad, cypress mulch, some plastic flower pots, and a few water bowls, then head home and you can get your second cage set up for next to nothing. The flower pots can be used as hides... cut a U shaped opening big enough for the snake to go through.

If they don't have them in the hardware section, check the Home & Garden section, that's where my local WalMart has them.
