I would take him to a good herp vet, you never know, it could be serious. if it is a RI, the doc'll probably get him on antibiotics like baytril, increase the temps a bit (88-92), and drop the humidity a tad. -Juggalo

Hi Jamie.
Do ou hear any wheezing from the snake? And is it holding it's head up and open mouth breathing? If so I would say it could be an RI. Blocked nostils only I don't know what it is cuz there are usually other signs with RI and usually you will start to hear the wheezing. Let us know if there are any other signs and maybe someone can hep out a little more.

Err. Before you jump the gun. Is the snake in shed or about to shed? Has it's eyes been in blue in the last week or so? If so has it completely shed? Is the obstruction visible? Is it skin/scales or what? Is just one side blocked or both? Give us a little more info and we might be able to help more. You can take it to a herp vet now, but would hate to see you spend 50 bucks just for the vet to tell you the snake is in shed and to just leave it alone for a few days. That would be an expensive simple diagnosis.
Just a thought....

how long has the snake been this way? if it just now started, and seems like it might be shed related, then yeah, listen to thade, that would be a bummer to spen the cash on a vet visit when you diddn't need it. does his tongue look wet? do you see any white mucus on it? does he flick it fast, and often? a healthy snakes mouth should be dry, a lot of times wheezing, a wet mouth, and holding mouth open a signs of RI. -Juggalo

Thanks for the replies.
Just one blocked nostril, me & my kids have just cleared it, looked like a small booger.
No other symptoms, except she didn't seem to keen on coming out, but she let us do what we had to do. No noises, escept that she kinda hisses, but it's just her breathing out, she's always done it.
Defo no shed imminent, any other suggestions gratefully recieved.
Jamie
