Jaw dislocated? Take a look.
Hey I just went to take Inga out of her enclosure and I noticed that her mouth was slightly open. After closer inspection it seams that her jaw is out of place???
She hasnt eaten in over a week, and I just had her outthe day before yesterday and she was fine.
Here are pics...
Anyone know what the heck is up with this? And do I need to do something?

Re: Jaw dislocated? Take a look.
I would open her mouth up and see if there is anything stuck in her teeth or gums. If there is anything remove it and clean the mouth area with a Q-Tip using 50/50 hydrogen peroxide / water solution for the first treatment then use the Povidone Iodine Topical Gel antiseptic cleaner for all other treatments. If there is clear blister use a pin and pop it and try and get the fluid out and then clean it as stated above. If it doesn't clear up in a few day get her to a Vet. If there is any pus in the gum or blister take her to the Vet as you will need meds for her.
Take care
Tom

Re: Jaw dislocated? Take a look.
There *could* be some sort of abscess or tumor in her mouth, but it's probably nothing. This is not uncommon after feedings, but it can also happen if she sleeps in a funny position or rubs up against something and her jaw becomes unaligned. In that case, it's no deal at all. If it doesn't go away soon or if you notice any mucous, puss, or blood around her mouth, get her into a vet. But I don't mean to scare you, it's probably nothing.

I think she may have just been sleeping on it wrong. It is gone now.
Thansk for the info though. I was just worried because she hasnt eaten in a long time, and I have never seen her do that before.

Re: Jaw dislocated? Take a look.
if she is coming into a shed cycle she could be doing a lot of yawning. mine do that sometimes and get the *derp* face rockin for a bit afterwards.
