I think there is something wrong with my common red tail
so here's the story I got her from a person who didn't know how to take care of her and treated her like a plague. so I ended up offering to take her off his hands.She came to me really skinny I finally got her some what to how she should be.This morning I noticed she had some discoloring around her scales she is also deep in shed and also every now and then she lets out this loud hissing sound and I've noticed that when she is getting ready to do it she has this big bulge in her mouth area and she sit in her tank with her head pointed shraight up. I love her to death I don't want it to be the death of her if it is too serious.Also she is 5and a half foot and she'll only eat adult mice and they have to be alive I think she should be eating rats also she won't take to frozen thawed or prekilled  so if anyone could shed some light on these issues that would be awesome

idk those little red marks look like chewing marks, but who knows, the vet should hopefully be able to tell you for sure.

chew marks? maybe a burn? did they have a heat rock in with her? If she's sitting straight up and "hissing" she prolly have a respiratory infection... Does she have slime or slobber coming out of her mouth? And yes, she should be fed dead rats... and she will eat them if she's hungry, lol

need pictures of the mouth bulge. It could be mouth rot if it's inside the mouth, or if it's a pouch under the neck it's a sign of respiratory infection.
the brown spots LOOK like scale rot. I'm not a vet, so I can't e-diagnose... so you're going to get the best answer from your vet.

I'm wanting to say possible RI... but I can't diagnose, the vet will give the best answer. If it is a respiratory infection, don't worry, your vet will help you get her on the way to recovery in no time!

That's a sign of respiratory infection (the bulge). Again, I'm not a vet and cannot diagnose your snake, but you've already got a vet appointment scheduled so you're taking the right steps.
