Blood Shedding Issue

I would like to get your opinions on this. I keep my blood in a Boaphile. The humidity is spot on as is the temp. I keep a moist hide box in the enclosure also. I had sphagnum in it. The last shed was not complete leaving the head and eyecaps covered. I removed this myself (very gentle blood thank goodness). I decided to try something different and filled the hide box with moistened aspen shavings. I use kraft paper in the cage. Jewel shed last night and it was complete. She shed in the hide box. She pushed herself around against the rough chips. Is there any danger with using moistened aspen shavings?

Re: Blood Shedding Issue

the only "danger" i would foresee, would be if they are moistened for a long period of time, id worry about mold overgrowth and bacteria producing. i think i would probably keep regular aspen shavings and when she is a couple days from shedding (so when she comes out of blue) then moisten them down.
