A small cut
A couple days ago I noticed a cut on my female BP's jaw, or more under her chin. I examined it closely and it didn't appear too deep. But when I looked into her mouth I found a small red bump above where the cut is. I don't know if it went through to the other side or not, but I think it's possible. It doesn't look too serious, but I'm a bit worried that it will become infected. She hasen't eaten in a few months, but she's 5 yrs old and does this every winter. Last year she went almost 6 months without food!
Anyway, I really don't have the money to take her to a vet right now. But if it could get worse and become infected, I won't hesitate in taking her in.
Any input is greatly appreciated. I've had this snake since I was 13 and she is everything to me. I love her more than any pet I've ever had. If I can I'll try to get some pics of the cut, but I can't promise it. She's pretty camera shy and very stubborn.

Re: A small cut
Betadine (or similar 10% iodine solution) works great for reducing infection. Neosporin ointment is always my top choice for aiding in the healing of wounds.
Do you know what might have caused the cut?

Re: A small cut
if its a straight line cut, from the middle of the chin to the throat, its another breathing hole, for when there eating.

I don't know for sure. But one of the fake plants I have in her cage has a rough metal tip where it was broken. I took it out of the cage after noticing the cut, suspecting she rubbed up against it.
