The Enemy!!!
So, I've been seeing a lot of threads about mites that I think could be greatly helped if we only knew definitively what, exactly, mites look like.
Lucky for y'all - I just recently got a snake with mites(yay quarantine!). So - me being me, I didn't panic, I just grabbed my camera, set it to macro, and clickity clicked until I got some decent pictures of the horrendous little brutes.
And I figured I'd better put the pictures up before I run out for more insecticide shtuff.
Lo and behold! The villainous mite, stampeding forth with all the hostility of a thousand tiny blood-sucking vermin plague! WE SHALL CONQUER YOU, PARASITE!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAaaaa-eh heh.
This, btw, is the inside of a twin-size pillowcase. See the seam? That's how teeny these things are.
And yes, every single speck(with exception to the bits of wood splinters) is a mite. Even the ones you can't hardly see. Those are ALL mites. If you look close, you can even see a couple that popped. There's tiny blood splotches.
This my dear's, is what I would politely call an infestation.

Re: The Enemy!!!
I love this camera. 10.1 megapixels. Great for some things, muck for others.
I must say though, I'm really glad these ones turned out so well. I've been wanting to get some good pictures of mites up here for awhile, figured they'd be useful. Ugh, I hate those rotten little things.
