I need info on How did he get all this, how can I prevent it, any info you have that I can read up on I would appreciate. Pinworms are aquired by fecally contaminated food and water, and mice. But the ones from mice do not cause harm in reptiles! Panacure is used for treatment.
Coccidia is also aquired by fecally contaminated food and water, but also the environment. Albon is used for treatment.
Tapeworms are aquired by eating a food item that is the host. (ie: a dog eats a flea and gets tapeworms)Droncit is used for treatment.
If this is the first fecal done on him since you have had him, I would guess he has had them since then. A reptile can "co-exist" with those parasites. Usually, stress enables these parasites to cause problems.
I wouldn't worry much as long he is alert and active. Sometimes they will go off food while being medicated, but I wouldn't worry much unless he is losing weight.
Good luck!
Kim

Watch out for constipation and deyrdration....a snake getting that many meds. can get dehydrated quickly, causing impaction.

I think He had to have gotten it this year since he was fine in the Spring. Since then he has lost weight and is very thin I hope i have caught it in time. I still feel so bad..Now i need samples from all my snakes man this is gonna get costly, lol. But the vet is working with me closely and she does good with letting me bring the meds home to treat them. Can anyone give me a break down on Panacur and what to give? They have some already made for me but i do have some at home. Thanks

Could have been Lori, in the summer. He is on the opposite side of house now but I am still going to bring Fecals in for ALL my snakes to make sure because my Female may be Gravid Do you know the " break down" for giving Panacur? That's one of the meds they gave me but I can mix it myself for $7.00. They don't want to give me any more meds for the rest of mine till they have fecals done so I hope they all got pooty soon . He is alert and moving about so this is good right.
Also, That rescue I have, she still won't eat frozen grrrr any other tips for trying???

1/10 cc per 100 grams of snake is what I go by....I have also heard 1/10 cc per pound...I think this is a bit of an underdose myself...Usually though to be honest...I just open em up and squirt till it backs up and spills out LOL....They won't overdose on it.

Thanks Jules!
Do I mix it or give it straight? Can I treat them all with this or should I get the sample(fecal) done first? Maybe I need to get one of those things to check fecals myself..

That depends on what form you got it in...if it is a liquid form with the consistancy of phillips milk of magnesia...don't dilute it. If it is a paste...dilute it with water till it has a thin enough consistancy so it can be drawn into an oral syringe.
A microscope is good to have. It will save a fortune on Vet bills...assuming you know how to prepare slides from floats and smears and know how to properly stain them and then know what to look for. You will rarely find actual worms. What you are looking for is eggs.
