Does anyone know of a good way to tell if a snake has a respitory infection? I have heard that they are hard to detect, and that little or no syptoms are visible.

1st..welcome to RTB, we're glad you're here

2nd..as you may have noticed, we have lots of forums...please feel free to enjoy them all. However, when posting a new topic, please be sure you are in a relevant forum. I think we have a health issues one or something that would be a better place to post this question than the adoption center (although plenty of adoptions come with RI)

3rd..wheezing, bubbles from the nostrils or mouth, and gaping (holding it's mouth open) are good ways to tell

Welcome to redtailboa.net!!!
Like rev said.. Those are pretty much the signs to go by for an RI. Why are you asking though? Do you have a snake with a possible RI ? If you do and you don't know what to look for then I also suggest that you seek a qualified vet to check the snake out for you. if it has an RI it will need meds most likely and the vet can prescribe that as well for the snake.
Moving this one to the health forum now...
