I am not sure but I would take it to a vet. It may get infected if left untrated.

Don't worry about a vet quite yet.....
All ya need to do is just put some neosporin non-pain on it for a few days , just in case.

The white spot is the skin itself, no need to worry about anything unless it is an open wound and was/is bleeding which in that case I would still say neosporin and a substrate change for a few weeks.

I love it when some one has a simple one and everyone wants them to immediately run to the vet.
In many cases a vet will be needed but not all.

As for the scales growing back, most times they do and it takes a long time for them to be normal looking like the rest of the scales.

Just noticed that you're in Ireland.

Just in case ya can't find the nesporin brand, it's also called Bacitracin, Triple antibiotic cream, etc.

The ingredients in Neosporin are Bacitracin, Neomycin and Polmyxin in a petroleum jelly base.

Make sure to get NON-PAIN ( plain ) type.
The pain formula is bad for herps.

thanks eddie,i'll do my best but trying to find a pet shop that sells medication for snakes or a vet to treat him in this country is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.

Nah, go to a pharmacy or drug store to find the neosporin!
It's actually a human medicine cream!
