loud breathing

hey i am having trouble determining wether this is an RI or just heavy breathing due to other issues... i have a ball python and have had him for about 3 weeks now. he eats weekly. he is due for a feeding tomorrow but this past week he hasnt been as active and he looks liek he is shedding soon. today was the first timei heard him breathing heavy and when i hold him he doesnt seem threatenedfor it to be hissing. he doesnt show any other symthoms of an Ri though. what could it be ? should i take it to the vet?

What do you mean by breathing heavy? You can hear weezing? and bubble or liquid from the mouth? I have found that most ball pythons dont eat with a RI. What are the temps at? Might be too cold.

Still need to know his temps?? Is he also holding his head up
?? you should take a look inside his mouth and see if there is any mucus in there but we really need to know more about his set up Temps, humidity and how your measuring them.

But what are the temps? It sounds like RI to me. I have never heard mine make noise while shedding. Some other people will post soon and give you more help. Hope it isnt too serious. the Vet visit may be needed.

both my balls sound like they are rasping right before they shed, which is nice, cos when they go blue they dont really show it in their eyes. its the loose skin around the nose i think
