I don't know if there is anyone on here that would remember the problem I started having around a year ago. I have a rescued snow
corn snake that was incubated at the wrong temp and was born with a lot of genetic defects. The internal ones I am not sure of exactly, but he has no eyes, a semi strange way of using the muscular contractions to move and a semi strange shaped body. Out of nowhere about a year ago something came up on his scales that looked like a tick under the scale, but is wasn't. I saw an ant in the cage- a carpenter ant, so I thought- oh okay i'll put some iodine and polysporin on it and it'll heal up. Nope. Once one started to heal another one started to come up from underneath the scale. I made sure no more ants got in the cage, nobody knew what it could be. There is a picture on here somewhere in the help me section titled "Snowy.." something. But before I get the FAQ's... I ruled out parasites- there were none. It was not a parasite under the skin because it started as a flat red spot and then slowly raised and turned into a sore w a scab. It was not husbandry. The cage stays clean and the temps all right. I give my snakes bottled water and f/t mice. I tried raising the temp and humidity slightly and giving periodic lukewarm baths....There was nothing I could think of to get these things to go away!!! I just kept doing the polysporen and iodine thing, and I didn't go to the vet cause I am fet up with the reptile vets close to me, and it didn't seem to be affecting his health or activity, just his scales. It has been consistent with some healing and more coming up until this last batch that just healed. I hadn't done anything different other than the fact that I fasted him for a lil over a month... actually on accident, but he usually eats every other week, and I think that might have something to do with the bumps healing all the way. I think it might have been something internal that he might have got from a mouse. I heard that getting frozen kills most of the bacteria or diseases they could carry but he still could have got it there... it would have had to be there, and I think it just needed to be completely flushed out his digestive system maybe?. Last time I posted about this no one had a clue what it could be and no one else had ever had this health issue, but if by some chance someone knows something about it.....
